The Institut français de Grèce chooses CHAUVET & ChamSys

The Institut français de Grèce upgraded the equipment of the Auditorium Theo Angelopoulos with products by CHAUVET Professional, CHAUVET DJ, ChamSys & Capture.

PA SOLUTIONS undertook the design and installation of the new equipment which includes 6 x CHAUVET Professional Maverick Force S Profile, 10 x CHAUVET Professional Rogue R1X Wash,13x CHAUVET DJ SlimPAR PRO Q USB wash, ChamSys MagicQ MQ50 Compact Console, CHAUVET Professional Net-X II, CHAUVET DJ Hurricane Haze 4D, with Doughty hangers, as well as installation of a new electrical panel.

“With the recent upgrade of the lighting installation in the Theo Angelopoulos Auditorium of the French Institute of Greece, we are now able to cope with the ever-increasing technical demands of the productions organised in our venue.

 The first impressions are very positive. All those who know the venue have noticed the upgrade of the lighting equipment and its capabilities.

The events organised at the Auditorium Theo Angelopoulos are varied. These include conferences, round table discussions, theatre performances and concerts. The preparation time depends on the complexity of each event. The fact that very often two different events are scheduled on the same day does not leave much time for preparation. This is exactly where the new lighting equipment in combination with the ChamSys MQ50 and Capture helped us a lot.

ChamSys MagicQ MQ50 is in itself a very big upgrade over the preexisting lighting console. The ease of programming and control it offers combined with the remote control and automation capabilities make the day-to-day running of the venue much easier. An important factor in choosing this console was the size combined with the features it offers, and the fact that it accepts commands via OSC, which helps us to automate the control.

The transition from the previous incandescent light fixtures to an all-LED installation has helped us both reduce our electricity consumption and eliminate the need to systematically procure replacement lamps. This upgrade is also perfectly in line with the "Green Institute" project implemented in recent years by the Institut français de Grèce management.

This is the first time we have used moving profile heads in our auditorium. This change has enabled us to precisely control the beam of the lights and avoid mis-lighting problems, greatly improving the aesthetic effect for both the audience in the hall and for online viewers via live streaming. 

Capture helps us reduce the preparation time of a show and monitor the correct operation of the lights during the show. An important help for us was also the possibility to distribute a presentation file to the partners so that they can more easily understand the lighting design we propose."
